Poems
These are poems that made me cry when I read them. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. Just remember that whatever challenges you face in your life time you'll always overcome them.
"Friends forever," you promised.
"Together till the end."
We did everything with each other.
You were my best friend.
When I was sad, you were by my side.
When I was scared, you felt my fear.
You were my best support--
If I needed you, you were there.
You were the greatest friend,
You always knew what to say:
You made everything seem better.
As long as we had each other, Everything would be okay.
But somewhere along the line,
We slowly came apart.
I was here, you were there,
It tore a hole in my heart.
Things were changing,
Our cheerful music reversed its tune.
It was like having salt without pepper,
A sun without its moon.
Suddenly we were miles apart,
Two different people, with nothing the same.
It was if we hadn't been friends;
Alothough we knew deep in our hearts
Neither one of us was to blame.
You had made many new friends
And luckily, so had I
But that didn't change the hurt--
The loss of out friendship made me cry.
As we grow older, things must change
But they don't always have to end
Even though it is different, now,
You will always be my friend.
This is another poem that I loved. Please don't drink and drive it kills
millions of people every year. In 1999 I lost four friends in a drunk
driver crash. They weren't very good friends but still they didn't deserve
to die. I'm sorry for everyone who has lost a loved one due to drunk dirving.
I went to a party,
And remembered what you said.
You told me not to drink, Mom
So I had a sprite instead.
I felt proud of myself,
The way you said I would,
That I didn't drink and drive,
Though some friends said I should.
I made a healthy choice,
And your advice to me was right,
The party finally ended,
And the kids drove out of sight.
I got into my car,
Sure to get home in one piece,
I never knew what was coming, Mom
Something I expected least.
Now I'm lying on the pavement,
And I hear the policeman say,
"The kid that caused this wreck was drunk,"
Mom, his voice seems far away.
My own blood's all around me,
As I try hard not to cry.
I can hear the paramedic say,
This girl is going to die."
I'm sure the guy had no idea,
While he was flying high,
Because he chose to drink and drive,
Now I would have to die.
So why do people do it, Mom
Knowing that it ruins lives?
And now the pain is cutting me,
Like a hundred stabbing knives.
Tell sister not to be afraid, Mom
Tell daddy to be brave,
And when I go to heaven,
Put "Daddy's Girl" on my grave.
Someone should have taught him,
That its wrong to drink and drive.
Maybe if his parents had,
I'd still be alive.
My breath is getting shorter, Mom
I'm getting really scared.
These are my final moments,
And I'm so unprepared.
I wish that you could hold me Mom,
As I lie here and die.
I wish that I could say I love you, Mom
So I love you and good-bye.
I got these poems out of Chicken Soup For The Teenage Soul. It is one
of my all time favorite books. The stories in it are just so great. Thanks
for sharing these with me.
This poem my best friend (Theresa) found and gave to me.
Best Friends
How do you classify what you may call a best friend,
For there are so many characteristics for one.
A best friend is a person whom you can always depend on,
And from your side they will never run.
A best friend is comforting arms when you need a hug
And is your shoulder when you need to cry.
A best friend is the person who knows you better than yourself
And the one person that, to you, can never lie.
A best friend never criticizes you or your actions,
And never strays from your side even when others may.
A best friend knows every little thing about you and your life,
And is the one who will be right next to you on your wedding day.
A best friend sees and brings out the best in you,
And never lets you settle for less than you are.
A best friend sees the potential you have to offer,
And knows, no matter what you may say, that you're gonna go far.
A best friend is always able to forgive,
And never holds a grudge.
A best friend sticks with you through it all,
And is the one friend that is never going to budge.
A best friend accepts when you make a mistake,
And never leaves your side.
A best friend loves you for who you are,
And gives you credit when at least you try.
A best friend is the one you can call at any time of night,
And who sticks with you through and through.
A best friend has seen you through the ups and downs,
And is the other half that completes you.
This poem is one that I found on the internet, I put it up here because it describes what so many people have found.
Love
My love for you is stronger
than any that I've ever known,
each day I learn to love you more
and our relationship seems to grow.
I love you more than anyone
in relationships before,
no matter who comes between us
you will always hold the key to my heart's door.
I never knew I could love someone
as much as I love you
I'll love you until the day I die
always knowing it was true
Thats all my favorite poems. Hoped you liked them as much as I do!
